Default Fitting 33's

Hey guys, I know similar questions have been asked but now that people have had more time to test everything out I'd just like to know for sure before I start ordering things that don't work. I want to fit 33's on without rubbing at full flex or full turn. i understand some new wheels with less than 5" backspacing should do the job for the turning problem? Also, would it be wise to put a very small lift to prevent rubbing at full flex? If so, what is the simplest option? Is a 3/4" spacer lift something that I should consider, or will that not give me enough room?

with no lift, 33" tires with wheels that have 4 to 5" backspacing will do the job...no rubbing on full turn, but will rub on full flex

If you plan on off-roading, the safest would be to go with a 1 3/4 or 2" BB. If you don't plan on doing anything but light trails, no lift or 3/4 spacers are fine. My rims have 5" backspacing (stock is 6 1/4) and my tire is 11.5 inches wide with no rubbing at all. I have flexed the 33s with a 1 3/4 lift no problem.

I ran my 33x12.5's for quite a while waiting on the lift. They did rub off road but not on road during turning. I have crager soft 8's 16x8 with 5" backspacing. I'd suggest doing a 2" BB just to keep from having any problems ever. .02

I went the tall skinny route, 255/85R16 (33.3 x 10.3) on stock alloy rims. I have no rubbing at full turn or full flex. I have spacers that I put on for a while, they're off right now. It was just for the look. They pushed the edge of the tread out flush with the flares. It has more of a Land Rover 110, expedition, look without the spacers. Without the spacers it keeps a little more mud inside the fenders too.

Dante,
Any chance you have pictures you could share with us of your tire choice?
Thanks

So far so good. I only have about 1000 miles on them and one power line trail. I have yet to really test them off-road. They hum nicely as any mud tire will, but not too loud. On the highway with the windows and soft top up you can hear them but they do not disrupt a normal conversation.
