Default I cut the pinch seam.

I have true 35's and a 2.5 coil and had to trim 1" off the rubi rock rail and I bent the pinch seam. (I was rubbing on speed bumps.) However, cutting the pinch seam is a better option as the paint chips and peals when you bend it. If you cut it (sawzall) you can then do a light sanding a little black paint to protect the body from rust.
I put the new tires on and set it down, the tire was about 1 1/2" from the tire so I went ahead and cut it off. I sanded, primed and put the black paint to it. It looks alot better without that tire snag on there anyway.

i run BFGs ATs 315/70/17(34inch measured) with an 2inch OME lift (actual height gains was 2.5inch) and i dont rub in the pinch seam even at full flex. When at full flex though i rub at the fenders even i use bumpstops Thats why i am going to do an 1.25inch RC body lift. Go on with the 35s project it really worth it.

I plan on running Durtrac's and I hear they are a small 35. So we will see how that goes.

That piece of metal just behind your front tire and in front of your rear tire where the side panels of the vehicle are welded (pinched) together.

Default pinch seam

Look at the rear tire toward the front of the jeep in the fender well. You will see a peice of metal that really looks out of place.(That is the pinch seam.) If you have big tires it gives you an uncomfortable feeling.

Stop with the pinch seam trimming posts.
It is most likely NOT needed.
I have 35s with no lift and flexed it to check. It will NOT contact the pinch corners!
Now my 35s are on the small side (duratracks) so I recommend flexing your setup and checking but posting that triming pinch to fit 35s is requiered is simpley not accurate.

Would I? Yes. I am currently running like that. No issues what's so ever. Tires travel up and down not front to back.
As I said, probably best for everyone to check with the setup they have.
I checked mine and could not get it to contact. I feel comfortable with it.
When I get a lift I will feel even more comfortable.
My .02 so take it or leave it. No hard feelings.

Put on a 1" body lift... Looks good with 2.5 lift and 35s anyway IMHO.
