Default Flashcal - Taking it into dealer - Code P0730 - Automatic

Hello - I was driving home yesterday and felt a bad/rough shift as i was accelerating. Instantly got the service engine light and when I got home I checked the codes with my Flashcal and got a P0730 code - incorrect gear ratio. Firs time this ever happened. It was very cold outside and I didn't let it warm up as long as i normally do but that was the only difference I could think of. I have always noticed that it shifts a little strange when its cold. I another thing I've always noticed is when climbing really steep hills it has a tendency to not shift out of gear. It might rev up past 5,000 or 6,000 but not shift but if I let off gas enough it would shift. This happened when I had the stock wheels and tires as well.

Two questions. (this is on a 2014 Wrangler Unlimited Automatic). All factory except tires and wheels.

Anybody ever have this trouble before?

Right now I'm running 285/70/17 and I'm using my Flashcal to adjust the tire size (no programing on my Flashcal). Should I set the Flashcal and Jeep back to factory defaults before taking in into service?

I appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Don

I would say so, why risk it. There's mod friendly dealers and there's the A hole ones.

Are you sure you measured the tires right for the pro cal calibration?

Are the tires all the same sizes... stupid question I know, but I believe that might throw that error...

All tires are the same size and I do five tire roatation. It hasn't done it since and that was the only time it's ever done it. One thing it's always done since I got the truck is it holds shifts too long on really steep inclines. It might hold second gear up too 6000 plus rpms when it should be up shifting. It's noticeable to the point I've had people ask me if something wrong with truck. Almost seems like a software update or something needs done to transmission. Ask dealer about TSBs but didn't get any answer.

My 2012 does the same thing starting off on long inclines. Either have to give it gas or let off to get it shift.

Thats exactly how mine shifts as well. With the stock tires and the 285's I have now. I wonder if there is an update at dealer?

Mine only calibrates, doesn't program or do tuning.

My 14 with 295's does the exact same thing, its normal it comes with the oversize tire territory just let off the gas a little and help it shift.
