Default Flashpaq Help!!

Ok, so I picked up a used Flashpaq 3875 that has been returned to stock, but I still can't program my JK. I get error G-37(vin lock). When I check the flashpaq under power options it says STOCK, but when I check the vehicle information it has a vin that is not mine. I downloaded the updater from superchips and updated the flashpaq, but all the info in the flashpaq is still the same. Is there something else that should have been done by the previous owner? Is there anything I can do, besides spending $100 to have it unlocked?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary

Does previous owner still have access to jeep that it's married too? If so get him to go back and unlock it. If not I dont think there is to much you can do but pay the 100.00

The Jeep is long gone, but he is local. I'm sure he'll either give me my money back or pay to have it unlocked.

It just sucks that he returned it to stock, but it's still locked somehow.

Thanks

yeah my understanding is that in this case you'd need to send the flashpaq to superchips and pay $100 to have it re flashed.

The flashpaq will remain vin-locked if any other setpoints have been altered (Cooling fan schedule and TPMS I believe) The quick return to stock menu returns the jeep back to its stock maps for performance mod tunes. The optional settings mentioned above need to be turned back manually by going through the menu system or it will remain vin locked.

100% correct

The way to KNOW it's fully unlocked is when you finished returning everthing to stock, THEN reconnect it and it will go straight to tune. If it shows a vin# BEFORE tune then it's still locked to that vehicle. Meaning something is still programmed on that vehicle.

I had to do mine before a recent TSB PCM update. Had to remove tune, tpms, tire size and fan settings.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure the tire pressure and or tire size was probably not reset and that's the problem. I looked through the manual and it doesn't seem real clear that you have to change all the settings back. I'm hoping the seller will make it right.

Thanks again,
Gary

Did you get this worked out?

On a side note... Am I reading this right... that you have to have a unit for each jeep?

If you have 2 jeeps you will need to have 2?

All the research I did, I never came across that nugget..
