Upgrade from flashpaq to trail dash! Who has switched and is it worth it?

Surely someone has? I'm planning on doing it between now and the end of the year. I'd like to be able to disconnect my sway bar and lock the rear in 2wd.

Currently have the Flashpaq . Bought it 3 months ago from Superchips Programmer|4WO and have no problems with this device, but I'm curious about the trail dash. Would love to see some personal feedback from other members here.

I guess not a lot of people have done this. Are you gonna do it Wrangeler X? And which Traildash are you going with? Probably the newest one since it's not that much more. I wish they'd make it so you could run the Spark program though an Apple computer. It doesn't even work on Windows 10....yet.

I have the Traildash and have had it about 9 months to a year. I like it a lot and it's easy to use. I can lock the lockers in 4-hi and disconnect the sway bar from it. I also like all the temp gauges you can access and set up such as oil changes and other maintenance. I have it on a 2013 Rubicon.

Save yourself some money and just do the diff lock mod. You can't lock the rear in 2wd with the trail dash, but you can with the mod. It has a lot of goodies on it, most of which you might never use... But a pretty cool piece of kit. I have had mine for maybe a year and I still think I should have saved some money and just went with the flashpaq...

I had the hand held for three years and was very happy with it. I just got a trail dash for real cheap and find the only benefit is the convenience of the touch screen. Most of the functions are the same. I really don't see any need to run the lockers in 4hi, so that has no value. The temp gauges and battery voltage are nice.

I stated above that you could activate your lockers in 2wd with the Traildash - so wrong! Sorry, I meant 4wd hi range.

What chemlight_ninja is talking about can be found by doing an internet search of something like "jk rubicon locker bypass". The first link for me took me into another forum, but this forum may have something as well. There's a couple ways of doing it. I'm not good with electrical stuff, so I'll stick with Superchips.

So I got my trail dash today. Got a fair deal from another guy on the forum. I've got Rubi axles in my X.hot wired so I can lock them totally at will. And I have an antirock swaybar.

I'm really looking for the extra bells and whistles like the maintenance minders, temp and voltage monitoring, camera function (I'm going to put some camera's underneath, and in my spare then run them through a toggle switch them to the trail dash) and idle adjust. Hope it was worth the upgrade. I'll let you know in a few weeks
