Has anyone used them? If so were they difficult to install? Did they give you better preformance?

Very worth it in my opinion.
Uses the OBD II plug port ...very handy for so many different reasons. There are lots of threads about its capabilities but defo worth the investment IMHO.

Here is one spanning from waaayy back in 2009 up until last month, it is 250 pages of flashpaq fun. Amazing what a quick search will find...

The install is just an internet update through your computer, then plug it in and follow the steps. Unless you run into issues, then it is a phone call or email and wait until they tell you what 'you' did wrong, or fix whatever the problem is.

Opinions of improved performance will vary, but you have a big ole thread to read through for more insight.
