Default Flat Fenders

Has anyone made their own fender flares. I was thinking about making a flat fender look out of 3/4" tubing and some sheet metal but I thought I'd check to see if anyone has attempted something like this.

I've wondered the same thing...
The hard part will be matching the contour of the main fender.

Use some 1/8" plate to make a mounting flange, clamp it in place, bend the tubing to match, tack weld it all together on the jeep so you know it fits...

I'd use some bigger tubing than you mentioned. Probably 1.5"

Heck, give it a shot. What do you have to lose other than some steel & a little pride!...
(And take pics so i'll know how to build mine!)

There are several threads here about people making them from scratch and also several more threads about 3 companies (Off-Road Evolution, Pure Jeep). Do some digging...

I'm going to play with making a front bumper and then I'm going to do some fenders. I've seen a few of the fenders that are made by different companies and they look pretty sweet. I'll be sure to take pics and post them when I make the fenders and the bumper. I finished my rock rails the other day and they turned out pretty good I think.

These are pricey for sure

This looks like the best way to approach it. There just isn't enough structure to tie into without a lot trouble. Get your armor and fenders in one.

Thanks for the pics, that's a good idea. I'm going to play with it after this week and I'll let you guys know what I come up with.

Here's an idea but not sure how to make it work. On the same looks as the offroadevoultion fenders but instead of sheet metal over the tubbing. Replace it with a 15oz heavy duty canvas attached to the tubbing by laced bungee cord material.
That way every time the fender gets screwed up it's a simple as zipping the windows on the jeep. Hell you could even have diff. colors. So you would need to make the fame then the replaceable canvas. But what do I know. Just thinking
