Floating Feeling??
I just installed the TeraFlex 2.5" lift and now it feels like i'm floating all over the road. Is it normal for it to feel this way? I still have smaller tires on and my cousin said it may just be the wing getting up under it and pushing me around. (I live in Ohio and its windy and snowy) Im used to my SRT gripping the road like glue. It makes me nervous passing the trucks on the highway at 65mph feeling like i'm gonna float over into them or in the median.
I checked all the connections on the sway bars and they seeme tight. What else could be wrong? I'm new to the JK's and need help.

Yes, i did that a couple days after the intall. Do you think maybe its out of alignment again? The roads are pretty bad here in Ohio but I didn't think they were bad enough to knock me out of allignment again. Driving down the road it doesn't pull to one side or the other. I guess its just when i go around bends it feels like i'm gonna float off the road. I feel like i constantly have to "work" the steering wheel to stay straight. With my SRT i can just lightly hold onto the steering wheel and dont have to work so hard to steer.
what u have is "flighty" steering, which like WOL said is due to low caster. check your alignment printout and i bet your at somewhere in the 3's positive caster..
u want more than the stock which is 4.3 i believe. i run 7 positive caster in mine with my lift and its not flighty at all.
whatever u do DOO NOT install cam bolts.. i would get front lower adjustable control arms..

What's your describing sounds just like mine after I got my lift. One of two things will happen:
1) You'll get used to it and become comfortable driving like that (I drove that was for over a year without any issues).
2) You'll hate it and get some LCA's as WOL described above. That will tighten up your ride and bring it closer to OEM.

I'm sure this is a stupid question but I think the Teraflex 2.5" kit came with new rear control arms, and I had to move the old OEM rear control arms on the front? Is that what you guys are talking about needs replaced? I apologize for the dumb question but i'm still learning all the parts. Thanks again for the help! My girlfriend loves the JK but i dont want her to be afraid to drive it.

The arms you moved were most likely the links for the sway bars. What you need is the front lower adjustable control arms. The silver arms going from the frame to the axle.

Q: What is Caster? How much do I need?
A: Caster is the angle upon which your front axle sits at in order to help keep your Jeep driving straight. Positive caster, which is what you want, will cause your axle to sit in a way that your pinion shaft will be dipping ever so slightly towards the ground. Too little or even negative caster angle can cause your Jeep to wander and feel 'flighty' or 'darty' as I've heard some people call it. From the factory, your JK will have +4.2° of caster and if you lift it and install larger tires, you will need to increase this amount to help compensate for the modifications. At 3"-4" of lift, I have found that +6°~8° of caster will do wonders to help improve the handling of your Jeep JK Wrangler.
