Fooling O2 sensors
Not trying to insult....but it seems you're just throwing parts at your Jeep in a haphazzard fashion. You need to do some research. I mean, if you want it to just sound cool, that's one thing. If you want it to actually respond, that's another. It just looks to me like you're going to end up spending a lot of money and wishing you had left it stock in the end.
Non taken, but yeah since am living far away from jeep civilization i am restrained to only to some things. I want sound, i love a real loud sound from the jeep. The gibson dual has a great tone, but am still trying to make it louder. I would also not like to loose power and if the gibson made me loose power i would like to get it back up and while am at it try to gain some extra. You are rite i don't know what iam doing thats why am here to get help from people who tried and/ or know how to do that. And since iam so far away i pay nearly double for everything thats why am asking so much to not make a ireversible mistake. I would like to know how i can do that? And i would like to know whats the programer, if someone can explain please?
I'm not familiar with any of the Jeep programmers in particular, but I've had a LOT of experience with programmers in general and they all work pretty much the same. They change timing and fuel curves to add additional power. The thing is, and understand this is MY personal opinion here, I haven't seen a programmer that "I" would plunk down that much coin for, because they only add like 11HP?!?!?!? I ain't sure you'd even feel that. As far as just wantin it louder, Maybe you shouldda just tried knockin the stock muffler off the original system and replacing it with just a tail pipe. Probably wouldda picked up more power than the Gibson AND been louder. Just a thought. ....and lastly, I didn't mean to imply that you didn't know what you're doing. No way, no how. That ain't me. I was just suggesting that you maybe search the forum and try to find out BEFORE you spend the money, that's all.
the problem with a MIL eliminitor or totally removing the o2 is the ecu can't run the engine correctly as it doesn't know how much a/f it is running. So it could run really really rich, and now you have EVEN worse mileage. my suggestion of the anti fouler still lets the stock o2 control the engine. How my mod works is the o2 is looking for a specific amount of chemicals in the exhaust. If you remove the cats it ggets to much air and you trip the SES. However with the antifouler it removes the o2 from the main exhaust flow and lets it meter what it is looking for.
Remove the afterCats if anything, I did, seat of my pants hp gain, no less no more and no ill effect whatsoever on performance, tuning, etc.
Reports are good for the programmers in the jk so far.. they seem to make more difference in the jk than in some. The reprogrammers in the tj did almost nothing on the 4.0 but on the 3.8 with the fly by wire its said to remove the computer hesitation that is associated with the fly by wire design.. I know they make a big difference in the ford diesels..

The Ricer crowd uses test tube kits that come with fittings so that you can plug in your O2 sensors if needed. I don't see why you couldn't find a muffler shop that would fab up a custom Y-Pipe test tube for your JK with these fittings so you could plug the O2 sensors in. Strictly for off-road use of course. You would first have to remove the OEM Y-Pipe and take it to them to match up. While you are at it add some headers by Banks or Gibson and some free flowing exhaust. Many people here would make the comment that you will lose your low end torque with this set up but on the other hand this engine doesn't make much low end torque anyway and I'm sure you would really wake up this engine around 3000-4000 rpm which is pretty much the only range that this motor makes any useable horsepower or torque anyway.
I wish there would be a shop that could help me in all these things. We don't have that good mechanics for moding here, all they do is repair and replace mostly stock parts. Its very hard to find a good moding shop or person. And i bet the headers are very expensive and would cost double for the shipping, which kind of makes it a no. The programer is i hope light? and not that expensive? plus the air filter is not heavy too. any more small add ons to give power?
