Default Found cheap bike rack

I'm pretty sure this rack will work with a receiver extension..........

For $35 you can't beat it.

I just need to figure out how far of an extension I will need to clear the spare tire.

Any suggestions?

i think i had that exact same bike rack a few yrs ago. i've probably had about 5 or 6 bike racks since i started riding, 10 yrs ago. keep in mind, you get what you pay for. that rack is cheap and if your bike is worth anything you'll be on edge driving around with it. i got rid of mine after nerve racking trip. the "versatility" of 1/4" and 2" receiver sucks. with the little 2" adapter, the bike sways all over the place. and the mounts where the bike sits on. they suck.

save yourself a headache and get a yakima or thule.

Just got an extension for mine see attached link. Cheapest I could find and good quality. 14" works well to clear the 35s w/ my particular rack. You can get away from "some" of the sway w/ either a pin lock that fits real tight or better a bolt and nut the fits tight and the right diameter for the hole. The extension adds another link so will make it more unstable. I use a tie down strap to pull it tight, not too bad. As far as the rack, you wanna make sure it has a function to move the rack away from the tailgate w/o removing the bikes. I would personaly opt for a true 2" and not one that came w/ the adapter like this one, just another way for ot to not fit snug. Good luck

I tried a rack that needed the adapter to fit the receiver and took it back. The fit was horrible and did not seem nearly as secure. I've yet to get another one as I don't want to spend more for a rack than I paid for my bike. I'm getting a roof rack soon, so I'll probably just get the attachments for placing the bikes up there when I need them.
