Default Frame side rear track bar bracket concern.

Hello All,

I am in the process of slowly upgrading my suspension like most. When I purchased my jeep it had a teraflex 2.5" bb on it. I have since swapped most of it out, however the frame side rear track bar bracket was welded on. My axle side bracket and the rear track bar itself are both stock.

It is identical to this one: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-w...install-97335/

But welded on pretty good.

I don't currently see any contact points after a few thousand miles of hwy and dirt roads since swapping out the TF spacers for the 2.5" RK springs.

I just got rear upper and lower RK control arms and plan to move the axle back an inch or so. Any idea If this existing bracket will hold up after the arms go on?

Also I bought the JKS rear track bar brace for the axle side but have yet to get it welded on.

Any advice is appreciated.

A drop track bar bracket on the frame side will decrease your roll center. A raised track bar bracket on the axle side will increase your roll center.

The stock axle side bracket is also very weak. It could be ripped off of your axle. The JKS brace will definitely prevent that from happening.

We recommend removing the frame side bracket, in your case you will need to cut it off, and adding the axle side track bar bracket.

Let us know if you have additional questions.

Thanks for the info, because I will need to cut off both brackets together and will end up with no frame side bracket, do you know of a good frame side bracket that can be bolted or welded on without the original bracket in place?
