Default Freedom Top Clear top

Has anyone taken a set of freedom panels and made them clear or tinted so you can see through it like a sun roof?
If so I would like to see pictures. Would it be worth it?
Thanks

The only thing I've seen is a tinted plastic top that you install instead of a regular top. Kind of like a plastic bikini top. Might be interesting to see what could be done with a set of spare freedom top panels.

there is a company called wade that makes something similar to what you are looking for but it just attaches to the roll bars and is not exactly a freedom top

that would be interesting to make an entire see through hard top lol, would have its pros and cons just like anything else i know, but it'd still be interesting.

Considering the ultra high cost of it, rarity and difficulty to integrate into the shapes that might be needed I would imagine the following idea is simply folly, but wouldn't it be cool if:

You could get a Lexan top with electrochromatic film integrated in as a replacement for the freedom top panels? Basically your idea of a tinted lexan or other plastic top that you can see through, but with the electrochromatic tint built in so you can make it opaque with the flip of a switch (on those hot sunny days when you've had enough sun, or say just flip the passenger seat when you have your bald buddy with you). Look up Privacy Glass, Electrochromatic Glass or Sage Glass (Sage is a brand name). Pretty cool stuff.

Or - maybe an aftermarket fitment for an insert (remove part of the original freedom top material and replace with Electrochromatic glass).

Better have deep pockets however. I looked at Sage glass as an option on some replacement skylights at home. That option tacked on $500 to a 2' x 8' skylight, not including the power supply and electrical work to wire it to the home power circuit. The skylight was only $480 with standard UV tinted LowE double pane tempered exterior/laminated interior.
