Take the VIN to the dealer and let them look it up. If the rear isn't a Dana 44, it'll be a Dana 35. I believe they put the Dana 35 in the rear of VERY early JKs, not the 30.

ALL Unlimiteds have the rear D44, regardless of year, options, etc.

As RedneckJeep mentioned, for those early two-door JKs that got stuck with the non-D44 rear, it is a D35, D30 is front axle only.

[QUOTE=kurtfriedrich;729706]I was in my 4x4 shop this morning asking about OX, ARB or Ected electric. But I was thinking OX with the cable engagement, not air. This shop was strong on ARB, claiming that the cable on the OX gets stretched from use, and you have to open up the diff to adjust it. I find that hard to believe, why wouldn't there be an adjustment outside? Anybody here have a lot of miles on an OX with cable that can comment?

I like the Ox cable locker to, just don't know a good place to put the cable control. I had ABR in my TJ, the aircompressor made me nervous. I don't even like the radio on when I have to concentrate.

I'll probably just go with the Aussie when it's available for the JK. Anybody know when it will be ready? I've been hearing 3wks for two mo. now

This has been a great discussion. I am too trying to decide what to do about my D30. I think I am gonna just go with MOPAR D44 set up and do that swap out.

As long as you have the 4.10's in the rear thats a great way to go. I just don't like the computer controlling my locker and it only comes into play when your in 4wh low, but coast wise it most beneficial.
