Default Front axle shifted towards the drivers side...

Hello,

Is it dangerous or any chance to impact others dirving component to drive my jeep with Front axle shifted towards the drivers side.... ? Measurement are 16.5inch from coils support center and at 15,75 inch at left side, I'm only doing town road presently, so always under 80km/h, but I plan to go wheeling this week-end on light trail.... should I avoid it ? I'll get my adjustable track bar next week...

I used to have 3" lift since 3 years, but I just had a 1" coils spacer... and issue have started.... but with 3" lift, no issue at all

Do you have an adjustable track bar?

Sorry just read the hole post. The track bar will correct the issue. It will drive a little funny and I would recommend passing on wheeling this weekend because your front driveshaft is also off.

You have been running a 3" lift for three years, with a stock trackbar, and the axle was shifted to drivers side the entire time.

You just added 1" spacers on top of the 3" coils, so the axle is shifted slightly further to drivers side?

If the offset axle hasn't caused an issue in the last three years, I don't see the problem with one more weekend.

And it will move more than that at full droop, I wouldn't worry about it.

The fact is with my 3" lift I didn't see any change on driving feeling, it's was like transparent, like stock suspension... no loose at all. But 2 weeks ago I had more 1" and I notice now some loose in steering... steering movement are no more fluid as it was, yes only 1" is doing this ! I'm not suprise, I was aware about that.

You probably need to invest into doing the draglink flip at 4" of lift.

Lifting your jeep above 3.5" without the proper steering/ suspension setup can cause flightier steering and poor handling.

I would bet it is lower caster from the added height, and not the offset axle, that you are feeling. What are the alignment specs?

My plan is ...I wanted to center axle before to do alignment...or it's doesn't matter at all to do it before..? and after new adj. trackbar and alignment that could I expect to have a better steering feeling...like it was before.. or close..I hope !

From the factory, the only thing an alignment shop can do is adjust the Toe, and center the steering wheel. They can't adjust Caster or Camber.

Toe is basically the front of the tires being closer together or farther apart than the rear of the tires. I do not how an offset axle will affect the toe setting, but I wouldn't think very much from only moving up one inch.

As you lift higher, the pinion tilts up, and the caster decreases. Low caster causes flighty steering, which gets progressively worse with added height. (again, this is my guess).

Another thing to check would be to loosen all control arm and trackbar bolts, shake the jeep to re-settle everything, then tighten and re-torque the bolts.
