Front Axle Universal Joints
Guys I need your help. I was told this morning that because I lifted my jeep Chrysler Canada will not honor the warranty for the U joints
. The stupid biatch 'service advisor' even put on the service order that I modified my 'drivetrain' I had to call her back and correct her that I modified the SUSPENSION....dipshite....
Anyway I have been searching here and other sites for the replacement parts for the U joints. The OEM is part number 68017182AA for dana 44's but I don't want to go that route as they want (get this) $135 plus tax (13%) for each one here in good ole Canada.
Has anyone switched to another maufacturer such as Spicer? And what is the part number? Has it got the cup size of 1.062" or 1.188"? Yeah I know Double D's cup size for sure right lol? I have the 08 Rubicon.
I'd appreciate any help as I will get under tonight after work and check out/measure the size myself. Figured if I could get an answer I would order them today.

OUCH! $240 for one U joint? Wow they must be made of cryptonite......I best change my name from Rokklymer to curbclimber lol....I don't do any heavy wheeling on rocks maybe twice a year and it's my DD...
unfortunately, the factory u-joint is your only bet then and up in canada, you should be changing them out about once every 2 years - more if you see a lot of salty roads. over the summer, i ran the rubicon with a bunch of canadians and most had u-joints going out and we had to replace 2 on the trail. the CTM's are pricey but, you won't need to keep changing them out.
I can get the factory ones for $69.99 each US Mail shipping to Canada would only be like $20. Give me a call if you want to order them. I can also get the CTM's for $227.99 each. CTM's are nice, just grease and go. They will last forever if you keep them greased, you will break shafts before the u-joints

Vedo13 - fair question. I bought it used and fell in live with the yellow. Felt comfortable buying it as it wasn't abused and the former owner lost his job and had to sell it for that reason. Could have been an X, didn't matter. Hell you could get around in all kinds of vehicles here in the north lol. (I'm 20 minutes from Buffalo or Niagara Falls). Being a Rubicon was just added incentive, besides I will get up where some of the bigger boys play in northern Ontario sooner or later.
