What is the purpose of a Stinger Hoop? It looks way out there? Is it for protection or something?

 

its for rock crawling on steep grade... so just in case you start to go tail end over your front it is supposed to keep you from flipping on your roof... if that makes any sense... im sure people will start posting the videos soon. A lot of the older Jeeps will have Stingers on their rear bumper tire carier as well.

 

OK... that's a pretty good reason to have one But does it really work? Would it really stop a JK UNlimited from tipping forward over?
