Front Bumper Modified
Built the bumper a few months ago. Took the Jeep out to see what I did and did not like about it. Also listened to others about what they thought about the design. This was my first attempt at building a Jeep bumper. Student welders and instructor actually did the welding. This week I took it back for some modifications.
1. Took the light bar off. - It was too small a diameter tube for the size of the bumper. I also wanted a more angled look to it but they were unable to do what I wanted with the tools they had at their disposal.
2. I wanted the profile to be closer to the Jeep. This was for better approach angles on rocks and such. When we pulled it off I could see how this was not going to happen. We could have torn it all apart and I would have gained about an 1 inch closer. Not a good option. We opted to take 2" off the bottom of the bumper to gain that much clearance on the front. I think it looks better also. I wish I could have pushed it in about 4 inches but it will work for my needs. Here are some pics before and after.

This picture shows my skid plate before I repainted it. I abused it pretty good down at Long's Ranch near Llano Texas.

Abuse looks like this:
