Default Front Bumper Spacers Anyone?

So I have a 5" lift and 37x13.50 tires. Normal street driving there is no rubbing of the front bumper. However, under some flex it, the tires do rub the plastic . I am not a fan of chopping it. I am going to install some 1/2" thick steel plate spacers between the bumper and mounts. And of course use longer bolts. Anyone ever try such a thing? If so, results?

thanks,
CE

Just completed this mod. I used 1/2 thick plate cut to 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 and a 5/8 hole punched in it. I pulled the swaybar discos and tried it out in the yard. No rubbing. On the bumper anyway. Tire did go all the way to the top and hit the fender tho.

I think this is a great option to chopping the thing and making a "stubby", possibly ruining the bumper. Takes less time too!
