Front Control Arm question
As of right now I have a 2.5” AEV left with AEV Geometry Correction Front Control Arm Brackets. As much as I like it, I have come to find out that when I do some off-road, it doesn’t give me a lot of ground clearance. So while at the NJ Jeep Invasion last week. I stop by the Synergy Both and was talking to some of their guys. I saw their Front Lower High Clearance Adjustable Control Arms. I like they it look and the fact that I get a little bit more ground clearance. My question is this , since my Jeep is also my daily driver I am wondering if I change them out will it affect the way my Jeep drive and handles. I am hoping someone out there is running the sort of the same thing and can give some insight.
if you pull the brackets off and put the adjustable LCA on your pinion angle will remain the same. now if you had a 4" lift then the drop brackets might make a difference but with only 2.5" you shouldnt notice any difference as long as your pinoin angle is right (4.5 degrees)
I was in the same situation. I removed the brackets and installed the lower control arms. The road manners are the same. The arms are pure beef. Get a grease gun and keep the joints lubed.
I have a 2.5" RK lift and was running the aev geo bracket but I too did not like how low it hung. I replaced mine with Teraflex sport lower control arms. My caster is exactly the same as it was with the brackets much more ground clearance and stock style bushings and fixed length so no jam nuts etc. they are longer and designed for 2.5-3" lift and extremely well made. $165 via 4wd.com after forum discount.
