Default Front d/s install

Needing some advice, I installed an aftermarket front driveshaft. Install is pretty straight forward, and I do most my own wrenching. In 2wd and 4wd, if I cut the steering wheel hard left or right, I feel resistance, like the brakes are being applied. I let off the gas and it unloads. I straighten the wheel and its fine. Does this in forward and reverse, both in 2wd and 4wd.

Any ideas what it is? Installer issue? Product problem? I greatly appreciate any suggestions and or advice. Thank you in advance.

That's expected in 4wd.
In 2wd, that can be an indicator the front axle shaft u-joints are beginning to bind/seize.

Do you get any lights flashing on the instrument panel?

I didn't have the excessive feel in 4wd with the stock shaft compaired to now.

No lights have come on, but I've driven very slow and only right around the cul-de-sac.

Why would the from u-joints bind????

The front u-joints bind from age, or corrosion from water infiltration.

When turning sharply in 2wd as you described, does the steering wheel oscillate back and forth at all?
