Default Front diff pushing out diff fluid through vent tube

Why would diff fluid be coming out of the diff vent tube? Is it too full? I know that it is coming out of it because it is very oily from the top, all the way down tube which is still in the factory setting. Oil is then being blown down along the lower control arm and onto the exhaust which of course then burns off and stinks. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

yep to full or you got water in it....see the link for the proper amount of fluid...common mistake some are making if they change their diff covers they are still filling it to the fill plug on the new covers, but that is to much.

Thanks. I will check it in the morning. If it is to full I will drain it to proper level, clean up the oil and then drive it and see if it still pushes it out.

Mine was overfilled from the factory. After a drive on the freeway it started to puke out.

Many are too full from the factory... Mine was too. I have read and heard from several credible sources that say if you run with it too full it can cause your seals to go bad. Not sure if its true, but seems logical. You dont want gear oil in the tubes, just the lower half of the diff for the gears.
