Getting close to pulling the trigger on mods. I found a small reputable shop that does general auto repairs as well as 4x4's in Houston that is going to do the lift and driveline, I'll be doing most of the rest (PSC fenders, sliders, bumpers, etc). They don't mind if I bring in the parts myself.

After reading through the forums, I decided to go for a new front driveshaft and forgo the exhaust work around.

Question is, which one? NOT going to do hardcore rock crawling, but a lot of overland expeditioning, small boat/trailer towing, camping, mud, tree stumps, etc. Hopefully as I gain some confidence and meet some other Jeepers, I'll get into some more difficult trails.

Current set up is bone stock 2012 Sahara JKU with 3.73 gears. The plan is AEV 2.5 dual sport (also open to other recs for stock ride as 24-27 out of 30 days of the month I will be driving it to work), 17" AEV Savegre's, and either 33's or 35"s. I plan on sleeves and gussets too (thinking about Rusty's vs Nitro sleeves and EVO gussets), as they are the best bang for the buck on the D30 before going D44 with a regear if I decide to do any significant crawling.

Settled on 1310 driveshaft, but what are the differences amongst the brands? Are any significantly better than another? I plan on ordering from Northridge 4x4 since I'll be ordering the wheels and lift from them too, and looks like they have JE and Coast, but would consider another vendor too if need be. Let me know what experience you guys have with them and another recommendations. Thanks a bunch.

they sells je reel and coast because they are good shafts that come with high quality spicer and neapco u-joints and without having to order them as an upgrade. you can't go wrong with either.

 

Can't go wrong with JE Reel or Coast... if you go with Reel make sure to buy the CV style instead of the OE
