Default front end question

I am looking at putting a 2.5 inch lift on my 2013 JK and running 35's. It is mostly going to be a pavement princess but will take it on some light trail every now and then. Are axle trusses and brackets really that important? I'm new to the jeep thing and want to do it right.

I know guys here in the mountains that pound the hell out of stock axles... unless you're wheeling pretty hard, trussing/ bracing is pretty overboard.

There are so many people that beat the piss out of their trucks & are surprised for some reason when they break, if you wheel intelligently, you'd be amazed how long stock equipment will last. I see stock 30 fronts wheeling hard stuff all the time.

I'd say save the money & if you decide to get more into harder stuff, spend that cash on upgrades later, doesn't sound like you should be snapping parts too quickly.

Btw, to many folks "doing it right" would be buying D60's F&R right off the bat!

If you wheel those 35s very long you will bend your axle C's. You might not notice it right away, but it will happen eventually.

C-gussets are cheap and easy insurance.

Nope. Just keep the ball joints cool during welding.
