Default Front lockers

What is everybody's thoughts on the lunch box lockers for the d30 front axles? Mainly the occasional off roader, good bad or ugly.

Cheap, great off-road - but a bad idea to have up front if you drive snow/ice. Depending on how much slippery stuff you get, consider a TrueTrac instead.

They can be a little clunky when turning slowly on concrete into a parking spot. I have a lockright in front and a Detroit in the rear. Great off-road.
I'm in Louisiana, we rarely see any snow, so this fits my needs.

Thanks for the responces. mkjeep you said they can be a little cluncky when turning. Do you still get differentation when the front axle is disengaged? I realize the hubs are still turning but the axle shafts are disconnected so wouldn't that allow the wheels to turn at different speeds, or not?

Yes, the wheels would be able to turn at different speeds. The gears, half shafts, and driveshaft would remain stationary, and the locker would be irrelevant.
