I had mine out to line the tub with Monsta-liner and you definitely have to disconnect the battery before removing the connector. I then did not re-connect the battery until the connector was reconnected. It is my understanding that if you then run the Jeep without the connector installed, you would indeed throw a code. Hope that answered your question.

Fascinating... I have removed my passenger seat many times for different projects and never had an issue. I even forgot to reconnect the air bag wire for a week. The air bag light was on but it didn't bother me.
The only concern I would have, in your situation, would be unsecured gear flying around the cab.

Wow that is interesting. Everything I have seen is that you must re-connect it.

I did the battery disconnect and 2 minute wait before removing seat. I then left it out for two weeks. The airbag light will come on every time you start it but no problems or buzzers. I didn't even disconnect the battery when I reinstalled the seat and the light went away with no problems.
