Question Front or Rear Driveshaft Help????

Sooo....I'm still undecided on which TF lift I want to go with 3" or 4"?? The way I see it is might as well pay a couple hundred more for the 4" if I'm going to have to replace the driveshafts on 3" anyway....My question is though, because everywhere I read on here says you need a front immediately and some say you need a rear immediately...It's kinda confusing. Some shops have said the same thing, so I am beginning to feel as if no one really knows, or maybe it's a preference thing....if I have to replace both shafts to even put on the 4" then I will definitely go 3"...soooo What shafts, if any, need to be immediately replaced on either lift?? Can I get by maybe 500 miles 1000 miles?? And I would also like to know a good shaft to go with that's not too expensive and is durable. Oh, it's a 09 2dr Rubi, she's only got 900 miles on her and I am just getting prepared for her to grow up

Hey Joe,
We talked about this and I believe you said the rear and that they didn't need to be replaced immediately...but when I went to Outlaw they said they wouldn't do it without replacing the shafts on a 3" or 4"

Default Lift

Here is my 2 cents, I put the 4 inch lift on my two door and the front drive shaft started rubbing the tranny right away so I had to replace it pretty quick but my dad also did the 4 inch lift and he has not had any problems and he has a 2 door also and did the exact same lift. neither one of us have replaced the rear drive line or had any problems with them. we both have about 8,000 miles on our lifts with some heavy four wheeling.

Hope that helps

Probably because they are just covering themselves. It doesn't hurt to do it when the kit is installed. It only hurts when the stocker goe's out at the worst time.

BREAKS LOL!!! front will be fine! rear will need to be replaced, I install them ok but do what you want i mean why spend 2k+ plus on all you pretty mods and short cut it the drive train , then when your BROKEN OR SEPARED DRIVESHAFT JUST TEARS THE CRAP OUT OF YOUR JEEP ( SEEN IT )..... By the way who ever had to do front on a 2 door JK your shop GOT YA !!
