Default Front Upper Control Arm Question

I have been experiencing some issues with death wobble over the past 2 weeks and have checked the front end from top to bottom and can't find the cause. I brought my JK to my local shop and they found one of the tires out of balance and performed an alignment on the front end. This resolved the issue for about a week, then I hit a large bump at about 60 MPH and was back to square one. Tonight while tightening all of the bolts in the front end and looking for what may still be causing the wobble I noticed that the bushing on the driver side upper control arm looked like it may have worked its way out of the mount, but can't tell for sure. I can't recall what it usually looks like, and hunting for pics on the jk-forum boards and project JK I haven't been able to turn up what I am looking for.

I am curious if anyone who is running a 2-3" lift with the stock upper control arms post an image of the driver side UCA where it mounts to the differential?

Wouldn't it look the same as the passenger side? Send me a PM after you check and if it doesn't look right or you can't tell I'll go snap a shot for you.

honestly, even with the right tools and a torch, it is very difficult to get the factory rubber bushings out of the axle mounts. needless to say, i really doubt that they have worked themselves out.

could you please tell us what lift you have and, do you have a track bar relocation bracket installed?

Vet716 , go have the tires reblanced a weight might have fallen off when you hit the pot hole. also check your rim and see if you damaged it when you hit the hole.

Check your toe....make sure it is only about an 1/8 inch in. double check the shops work.

In the mean time, to lessen the effects, lower your tire pressure and check your steering stabilizer. this suggestion is NOT a fix, but it will lessen the effects while you are searching for a solution.

I had a smiliar problem, and the toe adjustment seemed to fix it, but I am still going to get adjustable arms to adjust the caster. I had a blown (smashed on the rocks)steering stabilizer which made it worse too.

Good luck...
