Default Frustrating tire decisions!!!!

I have made numerous posts between what brand & look I want .

3.73 gears with 1.5 spacer on stock rims
Now I cant decide on size. I have a set of 255 75 17 for long trips.

Should I go 285 75 17 or 295 70 17 ????
How will they drive and ride differently?

Hopefully Im done posting questions after this one.
Thanks

Prob 285 I wonder if 295 would rub with stock rims and spacers. Have you checkd into that?

The ride quality of the tire will most likely depend on tire pressure and the type of tire and load range. However, the width of the tire will change some drivability characteristics, like "tracking" (following ruts in the road) and pulling to one side when you drive on a street with "road crown".

Now, the difference in width in the 2 sizes you're thinking about is not huge, so I would have to imagine that they will both handle and ride very similar.

It's not that hard. Both sizes will fit regardless... since you are using spacers. You can fit up to a 12.50" wide tire with spacers.

285/70R17 will be your best bet. 295/70R17 might take away some power. I run 285/70R17 right now on 3.21 gears and it works fine. It works even better with my superchips as well.

I debated these exact tire sizes too and ended up going with 33x12.50 and they're great but I also put a lift and new wheels on too. If you're using stock wheels and spacers with no lift I'd go with 285/70/17, it's a great look. The 295 is actually a 34" tire and looks better on a lifted jk IMO
