Default FT BB vs Teraflex BB

Is there any avantage of a FT BB over a Teraflex BB or vis-versa?

Has anyone had alignment issues with a BB?

Not sure which is "better", they are different.

The FT is 2" in front and 1.5" in rear (levels out the rake). I believe that the Tera BB is 2.5" front and rear. I think that the bump stop extensions on the FT kit are a better design. The FT kit comes with a Trackbar relocation bracket, but I don't think that anybody uses it. The Tera kit has an option for shock extensions, which is a great idea if you're going to keep the stock shocks, but much more money.

Very helpful info, thanks.

Any word on "not being able to properly align a jeep with a BB kit?" One of the local reps keeps telling me I'll never get it aligned properly and I can't tell if he's being straight with me or just trying to upgrade me to a more expensive lift kit.

I didn't have to align mine or center the steering after my tera lift. I can't imagine why a bb lift would make it impossible to align. I am very happy with my tera lift.

Bryan,

Your jeep sounds exactly like what I'm looking at doing to mine. Do you have any picks you could post for me to reference.

I have the pics in the my.project-jk page of the 33's without the lift but I haven't put the lift pic up yet. I will see if I can post it tonight when I get home. I am very happy with it though. It drives great and looks great. I did the shock spacers and am happy with it. I think eventually I will upgrade the shocks but I don't plan on doing that for a few years.

Exhaust and CAI is next.

That is a link to the lift pic, I guess I did have it posted. It isn't the greatest pic but it works. If you look in the greystone pics you can see the pics with no lift, just tires, and then with the lift.

I would say the TeraFlex lift is better b/c the spacers will not pop out as easy, they go in and don't come out. plus the front has a big cone it to help keep the coils from popping off, and trust me if you get into a lot of flex with your front sway bar off, you will eventually have something come out of place, but it is less likely in the TeraFlex ones. plus they have a kit that comes with shock extensions so you don't have to get new shocks right away. (you need longer shocks to get the full travel of your lift) I love my TeraFlex bb, i've had all 4 wheels off the ground, flexed it out every which way possible, and nothing has popped out or slid out. I do think FT has semi-fixed their problem with the rear spacers sliding off, but there is still nothing really holding them in I don't think. The TeraFlex rear spacers fit in so tight into the stock holes that we had to lower the jeep down to get the weight of the jeep to snap them into place! Both will should not need an alingment unless your steering wheel needs adjusting.

Good luck what ever you chose!

here is a pick with both rear tires off the ground...
