Default FT ultimate 2 door install question

ok I'll be putting my lift on this coming weekend, and I'm wondering those of you with 2 doors, did you have any set lengths to start with to make sure your axles were centered? If not, whats the best way to make sure there centered. My guess was to line it up directly under the bump stop?

Read WOL write up on trac bar install. If you are talkin lenght wise, just find a common area on both sides and measure until you get it centerd.

Start with WOL's write up, it gives you all the lengths you should need to give you a good start. I would run down to your dealer and pick up a new bolt for your upper control arm (passenger side). You will have to cut that one off to get it out. It took about a day to get one in. ($6)

Once you have the tackbar in place...you can measure it by standing a 2x4 vertically up against your tire and then measuring the distance to the fender. If the distance is not the same, take the difference and cut it in half and thats how much you need to lengthen or shorten your track bar by.
Remember this only works if your jacked off the ground.. I made the mistake of doing this while the jeep was sitting on ground.. While sitting on the ground you have pressure on the lower part of the tire.. Therefor the tire is squashed out.. Depending on air pressure could through you off.. Way Off..... Also you should always measure while the jeep is on the ground.. Under full weight.. Another Learning Experiance..

Exactly.. The 2x4 idea doesn't work with the vehicle on the ground.. .
But make sure you take your measurements with it on the ground with other means.. Not using the 2x4 theory.. Sorry to be confusing.
The easiest way to set up you track bars is to place you jack stands under your axle and let the load of the vehicle sit on the axle. To get the correct measurements anyway.. Basic Geometry..

When I did it I had the wheels off and used a straight edge on the front of the wheel hub.. and then measured over to the frame.. Those are 2 surfaces you know are true..
