Default Full Height Door Tailgate Replacement?

I am curious about swapping the "tailgate" and window hatch on the hard top for a full sized door that will cover the whole opening. I think this would not only eliminate any leaks between the two, but also would be super functional for longer term trips. I have searched the internets, and this forum, to find nothing. Has anyone seen something like this? Do you know of any shops that could make such a door?

There's someone on here that designs tops for JK's and made a door like you're talking about. I'll try to search around and find it, or maybe he'll see this thread.

Edit: Search, "Custom modular JK hardtop"

Have you had problems with leaks between in that spot? I don't remember ever reading anything on here about anyone having trouble with leaks between the rear glass and the tailgate.

I, too, never had such an issue, not under storms & torrential rain, and not under pressure wash.
Never heard about such leak.

I think that the money spent on such a door could serve better for other mods.
I actually like the rear window, because when open, it functions as a rain cover.

Yes, I've had a leak at each edge of the tailgate. It didn't require a pressure washer, just our normal rain and road spray.

While I appreciate the rain cover aspect, the simplicity of a single action door to access the back is pretty appealing.

I've seen a Wrangler J8 with a single door, not sure if it's factory, or if it would fit.
