Default Full Traction 2in bb question

I have a 2008 4 door X.
So I bought the Full Traction 2 in bb and a friend gave me his 2007 4 door Rubicon shocks and springs. 4 Wheel Parts tells me it will cost $480 to install and I should longer shocks (another $180) because the bb won't work with the Rubi shocks. Is what 4 Wheel Parts saying true?

Any lift parties happening soon?

$480 sounds steep to me. Maybe you can find somebody local on here and you guys can have a lift party. Half a day's work tops, including beer&pizza breaks.

As far as shocks, they'll work, but you really need longer ones to allow for a complete range of wheel travel.

Here's a tip:
Throw the front trac bar relocation bracket in the trash. It rides much better without it. Others here will confirm this. Otherwise, it's a good kit. I had one for a while.

I have no tools for this and only some mechanical ability. I'd be happy to spring for lots of beer and pizza if I could entice anyone to help.

Heck, I'll throw in some gas money too!!

Anyone... anyone... Bueler?

$480 is WAY too much...it took me an hour and a half to install my 1.75" lift.....even with replacing the shocks it wouldn't take you much longer than that.

I just installed the front on mine this morning in 30 minutes and that's all I am going to install because it sits level now. 480 to install this kit is highway robbery. You plannin on any trips east? I'll put it on for you for 100 bucks and I even got the beer.

It's a breeze to install. You should get longer shocks though. If you lived closer, I would say stop over tomorrow and we'll get her up in the air! C'mon somebody help him out.

You don't need different shocks. I have this lift and bought some ProComp shock that those geniuses recomended, I laid the Rubicon shocks next to them and they were about a 1/4" SHORTER that the Rubi shocks. So, I took the shocks back and stuck with the factory shocks which are actually a very high quality build compared to a lot of the low price junk out there.

I 2nd throwing the front track bar bracket away, it doesn't line up to be installed properly any how.

You can't beat that man, I would say go for it. Plus, a road trip in So Cal isn't exactly torture. I plan on moving out there every time I visit my brother in law in San Diego...I haven't done it yet though.
