Default Full traction trac bars

I have seen some people run just the adjustable trac bars and some run both the bracket and the adj trac bar.

For a 4" lift should I get drop brackets for my Full traction Adj trac bars?
Who has tried diffrent setups?

I know this has been covered and I tried searching but I have dial-up and if someone knows the answer or can post a link to the answer that would be appreciated.

I have about 4" of lift, And installed the front Full Traction trackbar yesterday. No bracket needed... It bolts right up, And has plenty of room to adjust.

I have the track bars I was just wondering if I should also be getting some brackets and what about a drop pitman arm? Do you need these for 4" lifts?

Are you talking front and/or rear trackbar?

Up front an adjustable track bar alone should be fine, I use the TF HD trackbar. In the rear you are just as well off using a good quality bracket. I have the TF bracket that attaches to both the axle side stock bracket and directly to the axle tube. It put the axle right back were it belonged. Some rear brackets are really very poor and are prone to ripping off. Like I said get a good one.

I use JKS adj. trackbars front and rear. Great quality, no need for brackets and surprisingly not to expensive. Mind you I am only running about 3" of lift, but i have enough room to adjust if I were to double that.

I see that now that I slowed down. I would say no to both front and back for brackets. Throw them in and adjust to fit.

you might want to call Fulltraction and ask.

with 4" of lift, I would say you need drop down brackets as well. On Fulltractions 4" lifts they use drop down brackets..

while it's not "needed", installing a track bar drop bracket (even if you have an adjustable track bar already) and dropped pitman arm will return your track bar and drag link to being more level again and this will help to regain stock like handling.

As WOL said it will return to a stock setting. In fact if you have a 4''lift, the angle made by the track bar and the drag link will be higher (compare to horizontal reference). Now if your axle is moving upward or downward, (if you do the math) the higher the angle is, the more the axle will have a horizontal displacement left or right.

If you use a bracket, it has the effect to lower the track bar angle (with a horizontal reference) then the displacement will be reduced. A figure that I found on the net explain this.
