Default Full Traction tracbar squeek?

Is anyone else experiencing squeeks on their (in my case) front trackbar? It's driving me nuts. I'm using Amsoil Synth Grease on all my zerks, but as you know, the trackbar can't be greased. I'm thinking of taking it apart, then drilling & tapping the joint. Anyone else done this? Does is finally solve the sqeeks?

its been discussed to death on here.. You need a good white lithium greese on your track bar bushings. I've had my lift for two years and no squeeks.

Its been greesed 3 times in two years, Its never needed it, I just greese everything often.....

Some guys do tap and install a zerk, IMO its not needed but some do.

I drilled and tapped mine. It was fairly easy to do, it took about 5 minutes to add the zerk. Honestly though, Im not sure if I really needed to. I used green grease and its been quiet for about 9 months.

Where did you locate the zerk? Got pics?

I'm wondering if I even need to remove the trackbar... Maybe just scoot under there with a drill... :-)

best bet is too use a drill press , it will give a solibd platform and you can control the depth that you are going to be drilling plus way safer

I'll look and see if I have any pics when I get home tonight. I drilled it right past the gusset. I had mine off when I did it, but I dont see why you couldnt do it with it on.

what piginajeep and bly109 said. if you use the right kind of grease when assembling the bushings, you will not get any squeaks. i am still running an adjustable FT front track bar now and it does not squeak at all.

I added zerks to both my front and rear trackbars. It didn't really solve my problem. The front never squeaked or popped that often. The rear starts popping after about a month and a half after greasing. I grease my rear track bar about 7 times a year. I've tried white lithium grease, axle grease and mobil 1 synthetic axle grease. None seem any better than the other. Honestly, I think the problem is that the weld on the bar was not grinded down enough. The weld appears to compress the bushing in slightly where it makes contact. I'm still waiting to hear back from FT regarding this issue.

I wish. I used a really good quality white lithium grease, and plenty of it, but it started squeaking less than a year later. It's driving me up the wall, so I gotta do something. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll try to add a zerk, otherwise maybe just buy a new trackbar. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
