Future Modification List
Just want to say, before I get started here, that I've read Dirtman's Thoughts on Lifts and the MetalCloak thread several times (amazing posts by the way) and have done tons of other research for modification of my JK. That being said, I would like opinions on the parts I want to use, if you currently run these parts or have had experience with them. Also, please let me know if I'm not thinking of something I should be. I want to do this thing the right way, as I'm moving to Southwest Utah soon, and I plan to be in the rocks very frequently. My main focus here is capability and quality. Would like to have as much articulation as possible too. Here is my modification list:
-MetalCloak 2.5" Game Changer Lite
-Poison Spyder Aluminum Crusher Flares (Narrow Front, Standard Rear), JK Brawler Lite Front Bumper w/Trail Stinger, Brawler II Rear Bumper/Tire Carrier
-Warn Powerplant 9.5 Winch
-35" Nitto Mud Grappler or Trail Grappler (I am not currently opposed to losing some sheet metal for 37s)
-ATX Slab Satin Black Wheels 17"
-5.13 Yukon Gears
-Adams 1310 CV Front Driveshaft
-Evo rear shock relocation brackets
May add Rigid Lights and maybe a roof rack at a later date. Other questions I have are:
-Will I still have to worry about my driveshaft contacting at full droop with the Adams 1310 installed?
-Would it be advisable to move up to a ProRock 60 rear with 5.13s?
-Am I adding far too much exterior weight than is sensible for 2.5 inch coils to clear up to 37" tires? I've already ditched my backseat.
My JK is a stock 2 door 2010 Rubicon, 6 speed, 3.8. Thanks all, and feel free to talk some sense in to me.

Thanks a lot, Mountain Man! I think I've answered some of my questions with another read through of the aforementioned threads, and skimming through other sites. May rethink some suspension geometry to maximize capability and not go completely bolt-on short arm. Gonna stick with the rest. Don't know what I'd do without the knowledge of folks on this forum. Build to begin in one month.
I have a 07'Rubicon 2 dr. 3.8, auto. I wanted to keep close to the factory ride height and feel, but still run 35/12.50/17 BFG KM2'S on Ultra Mavericks.. So I went with bushwacker flat flares and metalcloaks inner fender kit. Then I replaced the stock springs + shocks with 19/60's from a 4 dr unlimited Rubicon. This gave me about 1.5" of lift and still have the same nice factory ride.I have a genright trail series steel front bumper with a Warn 9.5 CTI with synthetic rope. Rear is a KO rock bumper with tire swing. Rocker protection is the bushwacker with the built in sill cover and factory rail delete with Garvin industries frame mounted rock rails with the extra tubes on the outside. I deleted my back seat also,(sold to a guy to put in his unlimited for third row seating, $250. for other more important jeep parts!) Performance wise I have AEM Brute Force CAI A superchips traildash and flows out Gibson SS dual outlet exhaust. All Led heads, tails, turns, side marks and interior lights. Still running a hard top but just scored a smoking deal on a new bestop trek top so hope to shed a little weight by changing that. The whole point is this is a similar build to what you are doing and I must say mine works just great! I haven't wheeled mine real hard yet ( I do have a couple trips planned in the next 2 months to do some harder wheeling). The one thing I want to change about mine is the gears, the traildash has helped but lower gearing would be much better with an auto for sure.
If I was you and doing an axle swap I would do the front first. The Dana 44 front is the weak link on the JK. The rear I would just throw a set of alloy axles in and regear and put a heavy duty cover on it till you break it. The front has weak tubes and bends easy so that is where I would put the $ for a complete axle swap. That's why I stayed with 35'S .
My future mod list: Got a living room full of boxes to install when time permits! The trektop (when I get it), RE heavy duty draglink, trac bar,RR evap skid plate, Bushwacker rear corner protection, Hoodlift kit, Mopar half doors with uppers, ORF Cage kit, Mastercraft seats and harneses. RR windshield light bar with Rigid 40" dual row bar , vision x 20" single row bar going on the hood loop on the genright.I know that I have more stuff that I bought but have forgotten whats in some of the boxes.
Well anyway good luck with your build. Post some pictures of your jeep.

Thanks XJay for the reply! Looks like you got a decent idea of where I'm going with this thing. Gotta say, I really like the low stance of your jeep with the 35's. Notice any big differences in ride/gas mileage/handling? Stock shocks?
The more I learn, the more I change my mind. I think I'm gonna stick with the 44 axles for now, weld in some sleeves and gusset the Cs, and wheel until something breaks. At that point I'll move up to 60s. Hopefully that doesn't happen for quite some time, but you never know. I'm set on the bumpers, flares, and winch combo I listed, but I'm still undecided on suspension components. People seem to love their MetalCloak kits, but I may just use their springs. Flex is what I'm after so I gotta solve the whole travel shock, bumpstop, coil, and limiting strap equation. See if I can't learn as much as I can within the next couple of weeks to piece a suspension together. As with most things, I'm probably overthinking it.
Anyway, head out west and get that jeep into some rocks, see what she can do. The trails are pretty fun out here in NM. After the first couple times on the trails I was hooked. Can't wait to get to UT!
