Garbage Bag waterproofing??
I bought some Coverking covers to protect my seats from the environment (environment= 2 kids under 5 y.o.). But these seatcovers aren't waterproof (as I found out in last week's flash storm).
Since I'm too cheap to go and buy Wet Okole's, I'm wondering about lining the seats with garbage bags first, then putting the Coverkings back on. That way if I get caught again, at least the seat underneath won't be wet (- I could pull the Coverkings, and still drive dry while the covers dry out - at least that's the logic).
But something tells me it may not be that simple, esp since I thought I read something about mold/mildew gathering when something's too waterproof.
I'd appreciate any insights/experiences with the above g-bag theory.
thanks!

Tyvec was my answer. Used Tyvec tape to connect to the seat (over top of the back, tucked between back and seat then finally around and under the front of the seat). Since it breathes it will let out anything that migh get in, tough as nails to abrasion and friction and most importantly, easy to replace with another piece. I purchased a whole roll (9x50') for $25 at a construction supply company (not a big box).
buck up and get yourself a set of Marathons and your worries will be over my friend...great investment IMO!
