Default Garvin Racks

I am looking at getting a rack for the jeep, would love to hear some feedback on the Garvin set-ups and some pictures. How is the pivoting setup? Easy to flip to get the soft top down? I am not sure if it is quadratec exclusive, but they have just the frame and no basket. Really just looking at one for the canoe.

I think the garvin has to have the basket. The front section doesn't have a mounted cross beam?

That is what I thought but quadratec has just the frame. It is called the adventure rack, not a bad price either. I think that it was 549 for the unlimited.

My apologies, you are right. I bought a scratch n dent warrior safari rack at the end of summer for my longboard but I haven't installed it yet. I may think twice about it now.

I've ordered one. I'll post pics up when I get it installed. I got it to and two yakima cross bars carry kayaks on top of the jeep.

I got my rack yesterday and installed it after work. I was going to take pics as I installed it, but I ran out of daylight. It goes together very easy. It would've been easier with a helper, but it's not too bad. I like it. No rattles, I'll post up pics of the Yakima stuff when I get to it.

It slides together or bolts together at various locations as shown.

Rubber isolators to keep it from bumping the body (the rack does sway a little, probably common on other racks that mount at this location below the tailight)

Drove about 65 and the Kayaks didn't move. A little loud with the Kayaks, but I figured it would be. There is a whistle when the yaks are unloaded but that is between 30-40 mph.

I like this rack, I'm taking my kayaks on a 6 hour drive to the beach in August. I'll let everyone know on my thoughts on my setup after the trip.

Well my pictures got out of order somehow. I should also add that you will need to buy a tube of permetex black silicone for the joints that slide together.
