Default Gas can rack for JK receiver mount

I'm looking to get a gas can carrier or rack to carry two 5 gallon gas cans that mounts in my reciever and hold the tanks up higher and possibly next to the spare tire. Any thoughts would help. Thanks...

Yup, they would be easy to make and wouldn't cost a lot. See if you can find someone near your location and they could fab some up for you without problems.

If you had to access your way-back frequently, it would be very inconvenient. Just a thought.

I use an Olympic Sierra rack ( the smaller one ) that attaches to the spare tire mount through the center cap. It holds 2 of the squat plastic 5 gal cans perfectly.

This is what one of Western Canada's members (BOAT) did for a Jerry Can holder into the stock hitch reciever. I don't have any better pictures of it.

How about the intelligent mounting rack. I found one from Morris 4x4 who I believe is a sponsor here.

I've seen something just like what you're talking about but I can't remember where I saw it. I know it was on a forum but I can't remember which one. It mounts in the receiver and had 2 square tubes that went up at an angle and had gas can mounts on the tops of the diag tubes, on either side of the spare tire. It was home made though but really cool. You will loose easy access to the rear gate though. I made one that attaches to a receiver I made in the spare tire mount. It goes up to a rack above the spare tire and holds two 5 gal Rubbermaid gas containers.
