Default Gascap

I installed a bestop gas cap and ever since I am getting a GASCAP warning every time since the install. Any ideas on how to remedy this. I'm lost on to why it's setting off. I have had it on for about a week and have removed and retightened the cap as well. Any info would be great. Thanks wing79

It's tank pressure that trips that sensor. You can ignore it or get a locking lid flap instead. I've had that problem with another vehicle and there's not much you can do besides go another route.

You can pick up a nice black or stainless locking lid for 60-80 bucks.
They look good too. Good Luck!

I replaced my gas cap with a locking gas cap. Did the same thing as yours and I couldnt figure it out. Thought I might have bought a bad one so I took it back and the second one did the same thing and also gave me a check engine light. I put back the original factory one and gas cap warning and engine light goes out. I would like to know what can be done also.

If there is a gasket under the cap try to switch them out, put the factory gasket on the new cap..
