New gears would require (most times) a complete gear overhaul kit depending on the axles you currently have, and what factory ratio is in them. A new diff cover will not be needed.

Contact a dealer with your VIN and get a build sheet. This will tell you the axles and the current gear ratio in YOUR jeep.

Some X's came with 3.73s and some with 4.10s.

Gear choice will depend on how much power you want back, how much mpgs you want, and your future plans for bigger tires.....cause you only want to do it once since your looking @ a min of $1000-2000 to have them done.

Once we know this we can help you more !

I have another link I will post here later tonight when I get home from work that has all the info you could ask for.

Yes. You need to do the front and the rear at the same time.

Expect to pay in the $1000 to $1500 range for parts & labor, out the door.

Around $450 for R&Ps + Install Kit
Around $550 for R&Ps + Overhaul Kit
The rest is labor

If you have 3.21's, you will also want a new front carrier. I 'think' they are $70-$100 or so?

Excellent work !

This was the same link I was going to post. Probably the best one on the forum.

No. You can't fit front rubicon D44 gears in a D30.
And my understanding is that the rear 44's are different enough that you can't use rubi 44 gears in the non-rubi 44 rear. (different spline count? Different gear thickness? Different carrier size for the different sized gears? Dunno)

If you can find 4.10's from an X or Sahara, you could swap them in.

Do you have any plans of going bigger than 33's? You may want to just move up to 4.56's. If you may go to 35's, think about 4.88's.
