Default Gear Help for Big Tires

I have a 2010 rubi 4 door and I have 40" toyo MTs, but I don't know whether to go 5.13 or 5.38. I am leaning more on 5.38. I don't wheel that much, but will occasionally and I drive up to 85 on the highway. Thanks

You'll need at least 5.38

I have 5.13s and 37s and I turn about 2900rpms at 70 and like 31 32 at 80
If u wanna go 85 alot u may be happier with 5.13, might just take more time getting those heavy ass toyos there

I have 5.13's on mine with 39's and all is well, zero complaints, but I think 5.38's might be the better choice.

I just put 5.38s in mine with 37 Krawlers. And you say you could go 85 MPH Stock! Man you got a Strong 3.8! I wish mine would run like that. Mine still down shifts on some up hill grades! Maybe mine is still to new 750 miles.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I will be going with the 5.38s.

40" tires, 5.38's and 85mph highway speeds have been common denominators for many cracked transfercases. Just a heads up.
