Gear install d30
So for a while i hold back on gettin 35's puttin in a lift and etc.. Because i feel like only way id do that is if i upgraded my d30 axle up front, feel like its not strong enougha to do an upgrade on a axle i souldnt keep seems stupid. Is there anything i need besides for the gears to do a gear change, like anything else needs to be replaced. I really would love to get a lift but feel like nothing is worth doing until i get rid of my d30 axle

I haven't had any issues with my d30 and 35s so far (knock on wood). I've been holding off on any real crazy rock crawling til I get gussets and possibly sleeves. The evo C gussets are a great upgrade for about $100, nice to have that piece of mind. The sleeves add a lot of strength as well, from what I've been told. If you are really really worried about the strength of the d30 I know Rock Krawler sells a weld on brace as well that looks to be very strong.

If you don't want to keep the D30, then why would you even consider upgrading it? Save up and put the money into a built 44 or 60...
As all of the other posts on D30's will say - its' reliability depends on how you drive it. Lots of folks are running 35's (even 37's) on 30's with NO issues. There are people breaking axles on bone stock vehicles, and there are also lots of folks destroying built 60's! Unless you are heavy on the gas and somewhat less than intelligent on your lines, a built D30 should be fine for 35's.
But, compare the costs of gussets, shafts, sleeves, skids, etc to the cost of a built D44 and decide from there.
