Gear/locker delema
I know eventually I will get larger tires (I am content for the time being), but I want lockers now. However, it is not financially wise to do this because I don't want to pay for the work twice (larger gears).
So what is your take on running 5.13 with 32's for a period of time 6 months or so? At 60 MPH my RPM is at 1700.
Thanks.

At 1,700 rpm, he most likely has the 3.21's...and that's in top gear/cruising. (He has an auto slush box...)

3.21/5.13 = 0.6257, or a 37.4 % rise in rpm to go from 3.21's to 5.13's...would put him at about 2,336 RPM with the 5.13's under the same conditions.
Its proportional, so it doesn't matter what gear he was in, etc...if he goes from 3.21's to 5.13's...that percentage will be valid for every gear, etc.

With 3.73's...he would have been closer to 2k rpm at 60, etc.

Can you please explain the math side. How did you get the 37%. And can you explain more on riding on 32's w/5.13. I know gas will suck if I go on the hwy, but will I tear up the gears?
