Default Gear Ratio Question

What is the best gear ratio I should run on my 2009 JK Rubicon.

37', 13.50, 18 Nitto Mud Terrain
Dana 44's
2.5 Skyjacker Suspension lift
Auto Transmission

Do you think i can safely run on the stock 4.10 gears? I do have my computer set properly for the tires and gears with the AEV procal module as well.

Thanks,
Brad

It depends on your confidence on the strength of the 5.38's. Some like the power some think it is just a bit to small and go with the 5.13's.

I have a 6spd manual and went with 5.38. That way I can run 37's or 40's and run up and down mountain passes with no problem.

From an on-road performance perspective, 5.38's all the way. As Jayhawk mentioned, the only concern will be your opinion on the strength. Much more of an issue for the d30 than the d44.

Post #33 in this one is good reading:

I got Yukon Gears from Northridge4x4 and a master overhaul kit for cheaper then anywhere else I priced. I'm told ring and pinions are all the same
