Default Gear Selection Question?

I have a 2011 with 373s. I put the 35s on a few days ago and have put some miles on it. I have to say after reading all of the horror stories on here it doesnt feel that different. It still has pep, still smooth and doesnt feel like its over working. The only thing that is a little different is 6th gear. I can still use it at 60 and up but 5th gear is used more around town. I am very happy with it. What gearing would be a little better for around town. I live in VA right now but will be moving to Oregon next year. Very flat to very hilly. I also pull a 1900lb camper. 488s seem to be well liked. I wont be doing gears for a few months as the drive is much better than I anticipated. Thanks for any suggestions.

You will probably see a difference when towing. Go with 4:10 or 4:88.

Around town you mean highway? Use 5th gear on highway. That is your new 6th. Your 1st gear is missing though. The goal is to keep it in a certain RPM range, not a certain gear #.

BTW, I had the same findings as you, that going to 35's, the difference was just slight. And I'm on auto 3.73.

If you kinda like 3.73s now, 4.88, MAY be too low. Have you checked out 4.56 gears?

I'm on 33" tires and 3.21 gears. I too use 6th gear still on highway some, and even around town. Gotta love Manuals and their gas saving abilities around town, shifting at 1600 rpms.
