Default gearing question

my stock jk came with 16"steels. i put on 17" takeoffs for awhile and now getting a set of cragar 17x8s with 255/75/17 goodyear wrangler silentarmor a/t and im gonna lift it 2"s. my question is since my jeep is geared at 3.21 as stock. would it be worth it to regear it to 3.51 for the 32 inch tires? i no absolutely nothing about gearing so id have to pay someone else to do it. i have no idea how much that costs. thanks

3.73 is the next step up, and no, it absolutely would not be worth the cost. (to me, at least). Expect somewhere in the $1000 - $2000 range for re-gearing both axles.

Stickied to the top of this Modified area are some FAQ's. Plug some numbers into the chart in the Drivetrain section and see what you come up with.

You'll see suggestions ranging from 4.10 to 5.13. I think AT LEAST 4.10, I would do 4.88 with an auto, but that's just me. I have 4.10 and auto 4door with 33" BFG T/As. It does okay for what I need, but higher numerical gearing would be great when I go out west.

I'm thinking he has a 6 speed, since he knows it's geared stock with 3.21.
