There might be one problem with putting in a 4:1 case in a 2012+ model, its probably going to go into limp mode every time you put it in 4 high or low. You will have to get the computer re flashed to accept it.
Or it might just be on the 13's
The last one we did it would go into limp mode.

I rarely ever stall anymore, as before it was a very regular occurence.

If you have any questions about the swap give me a holler. If you didn't already know, you can use any case from a 2007-2011 (auto or manual) or a 2012+ manual. Mine was from a 2010 auto with 15K miles, in perfect condition. I swapped mine plus $450 to local 4x4 shop that was doing an LS Swap. Got a great deal. Contact Motech as well as any local shop that may be doing LS swaps.

So i'd say go for the transfercase. Probably cheaper than a regear, and give you more benefit in your situation. 4:1 will give you better performance offroad than regearing to 4.56 would. 4.88 or up for us is too much gear IMO if you do a lot of highway. That's my 2 cents
Did yours go into limp mode when you switched in the 4:1 case? Just swapped one on a 13 and it would go into limp mode in 4 hi/ Lo.

Nope never had an issue. Was the 2013 an auto? I have heard auto's have to be flashed.

I'd go with a Atlas II transfer case.Either keep your gears that you have or go 1 lower for highway driving.Like the rubi case you get even lower crawl gears in the transfer case without affecting road speeds
