The crazy thing is when my husband called 4 wheel parts he was told by one employee to go with 4.56, then online another employee told him 4.88. It came with 3.73 and with the 35's the mileage stinks and performance leaves a lot to be desired. It is a daily driver and only light trails. Has anyone made the upgrade on a newer JK with the new 3.6
I am about to put 35s on my 2 door jk sport with 3.21 gearing and 3.6 Pentastar. How bad is the performance drop. Will it be bearable for the time being. I am saving up the money for regearing. I have manual though so i dont know how much different it is from the auto.

You'll be just fine on the road with a manual. I tow around a 2500 lb boat/ trailer with 35's and 3.21's on my 2012. And my friend drove the boat down to me 600 miles with the same setup and a 3.8L. Sure hills at 70 kinda suck towing. But normal driving, highway rpms are pretty much perfect in 5th, about 2500 rpms at 70-73. No you won't really use 6th unless you drive 80 on flat road

Now rock crawling can kinda suck, you'll just stall a bit more. But my 4:1 transfer case swap took care of that . I still ran black trails with 35's and stock transfer case
