Default Gears??

So I have a 6 speed jk sport. I'm about to regear my jeep just wondering if 4:56 or 4:88 gear is better for perfomance and gas mileage.

Yesterday I just finished up doing my gear swap and I went with 5.13's on my 09 which is equivalent to 4.88's on your auto. I'm running on 35" Duratracs which actually measure in at 33.5". I cannot emphasize how well my Jeep drives. I've only been able to drive it about 150kms so far but the difference from 3.73 to 5.13 has made my Jeep feel like a completely different vehicle to drive. It's such a shame that I waited nearly 2 years to do a gear swap

Stuck to the top of this modified area are some FAQ's. Open them, scroll down to the drivetrain section, and plug some numbers into the chart. You will need your current gear ratio, and use actual measured tire not, not mfg spec. Around 2500 rpm is considered a good place to be for freeway driving, depending on other factors.
