Gears
Another thread on gears. hahaha.
I'm looking to regear my '14 JKUR. I've learned I will have to get a programmer or else the jeep will go into limp mode. My problem is the jeep is still under warranty, so I go to the dealership for service right now. Problem is if i take the jeep to the dealership with it programmed and they flash it, I run into a bunch of issues. If I unprogram the jeep to be serviced, then it goes into limp mode, so either way it seems like i'm screwed when it comes to getting it serviced at the dealership. What have people done with this issue? I'm just not sure what to do (if anything at this time) or how to handle it at this time. Regearing would be ideal, but it isn't a need at this moment. I can deal with the way it drives for right now to let the warranty run out if that is what is needed at this time. Thanks for your input.

I use a Procal the dealership I Bought from is Mod friendly , so I've never had a issue.
When and if I ever have to take it in for anything I just put the Procal in glovebox incase they need it.
Not real sure though if you used like a flashpaq etc........

To get the jeep to the dealer, with new gears, drive it there with your programmer than set the jeep back to stock and let the dealer take out of limp mode a reprogram the CPU with the correct gear ratio. Than you can use your programmer. The new gear ratio will be part of the updated Software done by the dealer.
Hope that helps.
Those are great ideas. Thanks guys. For right now, I think I'll just chip it and see how it drives that way and do the gears in awhile. Then work on y'all's suggestions. I wonder how much the dealership will rape me in price reprogramming the computer?
